Intro - The Tasks Ahead

Ok, so after much consideration, we as a group have decided to create the inside of a spaceship. We don't want it to look like any old conventional spaceship, nor do we want it to copy work thats already been done, e.g. in films, games, etc. so it had to be original to a certain extent, more unique. Thus we came upon the idea of fusing the typical futuristic sci-fi style with elements from cathedral structures, and agreed that each team member should be responsible for designing and creating a seperate room within the spaceship.

I have been assigned to create the control room to the ship. Before I can start producing some ideas and design sketches for my assigned task, I will need to do extensive reasearch into both visual styles and environment components. The best way to start going about this would probably be to look at examples in past media products such as games, films, animations, comics, etc. where the sci-fi theme has been used to death.
